Work Done

A lot of time and effort has gone into the construction of Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple in Kyathanahally. We table them in their order of chronology.

Temple site (10-11-2007)
A devotee by name Mr. Narasimhamurthy, residing in Kolar has donated his land which is in Kyathanahally. The land is in a central place to Kyathanahally and is accessible from all sides. It was a place where an old building was present. The building was razed and the site cleaned with the help of J C B. A few pictures of them.
Bumi Puja (24-11-2007)
The Bumi Puja was a special occasion for starting of the Project. The Puja was aimed at doing "Shanti" to the land before commencing construction of the Project. It is a puja which gives the right to move to the next step, i.e., Navadhanya farming on the land. A few pictures of them...
Navadhanya farming (25-11-2007)
Navadhanya farming is the next step to Bumi Puja. The 9 sacred seeds are planted on the temple site after the Bumi Puja, and based on the harvest of these seeds, further steps can be taken. If a proper harvest is not available, the farming has to be repeated until a proper harvest arrives. Here is a picture of the farm.
Gudli Puja(08-06-2008)
Gudli Puja is a highly important task in starting the construction of the temple. It is what is called the Nandi to a successful completion. Before Gudli Puja, cows were allowed to graze on the Navadhanya farm after reaping the harvest. The crops were then cleared and a homa (yagnya) was arranged to jumpstart the construction. Here are a few pictures of the Puja.
Foundation Laying (20-07-2008)
Foundation laying is also an important phase in the temple construction. Without a strong foundation, a temple is also not strong enough. It seemed as if Lord Hanuman himself was supervising this phase, as curing for the foundation was done by Varuna, the Rain God. Here are a few pictures of stone laying before foundation.
Temple construction (in progress)
The temple construction, which has started after foundation laying is currently progressing at a fast pace. It is being done by an expert in stone carving in Karkala, a renowned place for stone carving in Karnataka.
Vigraha construction (in progress)
The Panchamukhi Vigraham is near completion in Srivaripattanam, near Bangalore. Here are couple of pictures of the puja to start carving the Hanuman vigraha.
